About Ballanee

Ballanee Welsh Stud is a small, purpose-driven breeding program founded in 2024 by Chelsea Wass with a vision to preserve and promote the traditional Welsh Section D Cob. We’re focused on producing quality over quantity, breeding only a handful of carefully planned foals that reflect the strength, temperament, and classic type the breed is known for.

As an emerging stud, we are taking our time to grow with intention. Our first foal is expected in 2025, and we’ll be retaining our early stock to evaluate how they mature before offering any for sale. This thoughtful approach ensures a solid foundation for the future of our breeding program.

Every horse in our care is treated with respect, patience, and compassion. We emphasise natural horsemanship, gentle training methods, and bitless riding wherever possible, always placing welfare at the heart of what we do.
